Dr. Sharon Coleman
Owner/Veterinarian

Sharon Coleman

Dr Coleman graduated in the top 10% of her class from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. She has been working in the Roanoke Valley for over 25 years. She is a mother of two. She has a daughter Jennifer who is currently pursuing her degree in Law and a son Gus who works with us here in the office. Dr Coleman works hard running the business with her husband Hal. And though she is limited on free time, when she gets it she loves to go to her farm and ride her horses all day long, with her dogs Boudrax, Ellie and Lilah in tow. She also enjoys reading and going for long walks with her dogs after a long days work.

Nancy Darby
Receptionist

Nancy Darby

Nancy has been our receptionist here for 7 years now. In Nancy’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, her coon dog Jeezebell, and Ceaser the cat. She loves her two horses Ace and Smokey and going for rides whenever she can. But most of all she looks forward to visiting her grandson Jacob. Nancy has gone scuba diving all over the world and enjoys sharing her adventures. She has been working with animals since birth, being her father’s own personal kennel attendant as her first job. Since then she has had experience working with large and small animals. She has worked in Vet hospitals and shelters and has done freelance rescuing with horses, when she finds one in need.

Marris Newton

Marris Newton

Marris recently joined our team here. She lives with her boyfriend Trevor and their pit bull Haus. Marris has a long history of working with animals, which includes shelter work. We are excited to have Marris on our team because she has a deep passion for exotic pets. She currently has two bearded dragons Ralphie and Smaug. Marris is a huge advocate for saving shelter pets. She enjoys spending her free time on the lake and relaxing. Her spunky attitude certainly makes her one of a kind.

Kristen Adams

Kristen enjoys all activities outside! She loves camping, running and swimming. She loves to spend time with her family and her two Boston Terriers, Harvey and Nessie. She also enjoys playing her guitar. Driven by her passion for animals Kristen is excited to get ready to pursue school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. And we are thrilled she has joined our team here at NRVH. Her calm and gentle demeanor helps her excel when working with our animals.

Nichole Zarobinski
Veterinary Assistant

Nichole Zarobinski

Nichole has been here at NRVH for over a year now. She loves spending time with her daughter Jessika and her fiancé DJ. She has her hands full with her pack of dogs Sarge the German Shepherd, Koopa the pitbull and last but not least Bowser the boxer mix. She also has two cats and a bearded dragon. She lives for the outdoors and enjoys camping, backpacking and canoeing whenever she can regardless of weather. She loves exploring and has huge dreams of traveling to every country she can. She has always known she would find a career working with animals, which remains her deepest passion. She has worked with large and small animals and she is currently a student in the Veterinary Technician Program.

Gus Coleman
Kennel Assistant

Gus Coleman

Gus has been working here with us recently. He has an Associate’s degree in Accounting. But Gus has yet to decide what career he would like to pursue. So while Gus continues his soul searching, he works here in the hospital. He enjoys being here with the animals and helping out in whatever department needs him. In his spare time Gus enjoys fishing, listening to music and spending time with his family.

Jacqueline Grissom

Jackie has been our groomer here for over 2 years now, coming in with over 10 years of experience. She has a beautiful daughter Katherine and fiancé Daniel. She has a beautiful pit mix puppy named Jasmine and a sweet cat named Elsa. She loves to spend time with her family. Jackie has a deep passion for animals. Growing up in a farm environment, her passion has never left. In her spare time Jackie loves to garden, knit, and when she gets a moment she loves to hit the trails for a nice hike.
